Our Founding Story
RobCo was born from curiosity, ingenuity, and a simple but bold idea: robotics should be accessible to every industrial company. In 2020, Roman Hölzl, Paul Maroldt and Constantin Dresel came together at the Chair of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) with a shared vision. They wanted to rethink how automation is built and deployed on the factory floor.
Frustrated by the rigidity, complexity and high costs of traditional robotic systems, they set out to create something fundamentally different. A modular robotics platform centered on software and AI that makes automation adaptable, scalable and easy to implement without specialist expertise. From this idea, RobCo emerged as a company focused on helping manufacturers increase productivity, tackle labor shortages and bring Physical AI into real industrial environments.
Today, we build our technology in Germany and the United States, with engineering teams in Munich, San Francisco and Austin. Our systems are deployed across Europe and the US. They combine modular hardware, no code automation tools and AI powered capabilities to deliver robust, flexible and scalable automation for real production environments.
Our mission is to build Physical AI for real factories, turning rigid industrial processes into systems that learn, adapt and scale like software. This is how we move manufacturing into its next era.
At RobCo, you are not just joining a company. You are joining a movement to reshape how the world builds, makes and produces.
