RobCo and Koenig & Bauer advance the shift toward Autonomous Industrial Robotics

RobCo's no-code robotics platform enables machine builders and OEMs to embed, deploy and scale robotics as a native capability of industrial machines.

Munich, June 9, 2026 – Today, RobCo and printing technology leader Koenig & Bauer have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the industry's transition toward Autonomous Industrial Robotics. Central to the collaboration is RobCo’s no-code robotics platform, which simplifies the integration of robotics and automation capabilities into existing machines and production environments, enabling faster deployment and greater operational flexibility.

For RobCo, the partnership is further evidence that industrial robotics is evolving from project-specific automation solutions toward scalable platform-based approaches. Instead of treating robotics as isolated automation projects, manufacturers increasingly require software-defined robotics platforms that can be embedded across machines, production lines and factory environments. Machine builders and OEMs are increasingly adopting integrated robotics platforms by embedding robotics directly into industrial machinery and production environments rather than implementing automation through individual, isolated projects. The company's technology combines robotics hardware with a software platform that serves as the foundation for autonomous industrial production systems and robotics applications. Thanks to its no-code approach, users can deploy and operate these solutions without extensive robotics or programming expertise. The partnership reflects a broader shift across manufacturing: robotics is evolving from isolated automation projects toward platform-based architectures that enable autonomy to scale across entire production environments.

“Many automation projects fail not because of robotics itself, but because of the complexity involved. That’s exactly where we come in,” said Roman Hölzl, CEO and Co-Founder of RobCo. “With our no-code platform, companies can integrate and adapt robotics applications into their production processes significantly faster and more easily. Through our partnership with Koenig & Bauer, we are combining deep industry expertise with a flexible automation platform to make robotics easier to deploy at scale and accelerate the transition toward autonomous manufacturing. and pave the way for more productive, resilient, and increasingly autonomous manufacturing processes.”

As part of the new strategic partnership, the initial focus will be on applications in finishing operations and production systems. The collaboration follows an Embedded Robotics approach, integrating robotics directly into industrial machines rather than treating automation as a separate layer. As a result, companies can integrate automated processes more easily, while streamlining operations and adapt them toward changing production needs in the future. The first customer installation is planned for the first quarter of 2027. Given the significant market potential and strong customer demand, the two companies aim to deploy a three-digit number of solutions over time.

“At a time when market conditions remain unpredictable, our customers demand far more than outstanding printing technology: they require autonomy, fail-safe operations, and resilience across the entire value chain,” said Dr. Stephen Kimmich, CEO of Koenig & Bauer. “Our partnership with RobCo is designed to break down technological silos and provide the market with scalable solutions in the future. To stay competitive in modern manufacturing, companies need seamlessly integrated systems and processes fully orchestrated from a single source.”

A partnership with a strong signal for the industry: RobCo and Koenig & Bauer formalize their strategic partnership to build an open, highly flexible automation ecosystem.
